Our Mission Statement

Thugz Off Drugz is a community effort to deal with crime. We will accomplish this by reaching out to the active addicts\alcoholics in our community.

We provide a genuine opportunity to change by creating access to housing, food, clothing and structured living. We provide support and resouces by networking with other agencies to provide counseling, identification, schooling, and job placement.

85% of crimes committed today, from petty theft to murder are drug-related. Most drug addicts are indigent, they commonly come from broken families with a history of alcoholism and drug abuse. By the time most addicts even consider getting help, criminal activity is a way of life. We are the only structured, multi-phase facility that provides a helping hand for the indigent drug addict\alcoholic. With nowhere out there to get the help that is needed, crime becomes a win\win situation. Let us explain:

Did You know that Oregon is 4th in the nation for people need treatment in the United States and we are 49th in the nation for providing help to people addicted to drugs or alcohol? Are you aware that a singe man or woman are not eligable for Oregon health plan? Did you know that the treatment centers that are provided in the state require insurance or at least $3000 to get in and then at least a 3 month waiting list? At the end of addiction, when there is nowhere to turn, where can a person go, without insurance, or financial help? Where can a person walk in the door, say "I have a drug problem, I'm homeless can you help me?"

There is no place.

They are desperate by this point. They're hungry, tired, and feel hopeless. They will do anything to survive, including break the law. They don't care if they get arrested; at least in jail, they will have a roof over their head, a bed to sleep in, and 3 meals a day. When getting arrested becomes getting rescued something is wrong with our society!!

But we are changing that.

At Thugz Off Drugz, we have created a possibility for change. When a person is in this hopeless state, They come to our door, saying, " I'm homeless, have no money, and can't stop using drugs, what do I do?"

We provide them with emergency housing, food and clothing, and a beginning down a road to recovery, through structured living. We help them to get identification, food stamps, and a job. We teach them tools and strategies to prevent them from returning to their former lifestyle.

all for $325 a month

In turn, this reduces crime in our area, and frees space in jail for more serious offenders. Everyone who works at our facility is a recovering addict themselves, volunteering their time to pass on the gift of a new life.
